ST. LOUIS – The Harris-Stowe State University women's soccer team defeated William Woods University 1-0, to advance to the AMC Women's Soccer Championship for the first time in program history.
The first half was a very defensive contest, as neither team was able to land a goal. It was in the 61
st minute of the second half that
Rachael Manley was able to break free and score, giving the Hornets a 1-0 advantage.
Harris-Stowe's goalie, Lisa Pietz recorded a shutout victory, playing all 90 minutes and recording three saves.
The Hornets improve to 18-1 overall while the Owls end the season 12-5-1.
Harris-Stowe will take on the Columbia College Cougars (#1-Seed) on Thursday, November 11
th at 6:00 p.m. in Columbia, Mo. at R. Marvin Owens Field.
