BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Harris-Stowe State University women's soccer team was back in action tonight when they traveled to Batesville, Arkansas, to take on the Lyon (Ark.) College Scots in the AMC Women's Soccer Championship Quarterfinals. The Hornets, who earned the fifth seed in the AMC Women's Soccer Championships, were defeated by a final score of 5-1 to fall to 6-6 on the season. With the win, the Scots will advance to the AMC Women's Soccer Championship Semifinals.
The Scots came out in the first half and got on the board early as they scored just 13 minutes into the game to take an early 1-0 lead. The Hornets bounced back just two minutes later when

Izabella Tedesco in the box for her second goal of the season to tie the score at one. The game went back and forth over the next 20 minutes of the half, but the Scots were able to score with five minutes remaining to take a 2-1 lead into the break.
The Scots carried over their momentum into the second half and were able score just five minutes into the period to grow their lead to 3-1. They continued to push the tempo and scored two more goals before the end of the game to solidify their spot in the AMC Women's Soccer Championship Semifinals.
Ondrea Montgomery (2-5) started in goal for the Hornets as she recorded nine saves in the game.
This marks the end of the Harris-Stowe State University women's soccer season. They finished the year with a 6-6 overall record and a 5-4 mark in the American Midwest Conference. The Hornets will return to the field in the fall.
