ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University celebrated the dedication of Stars Park on Friday, June 25th. The ceremony included remarks from Mike Claiborne, Michael Hall, Bill Dewitt III, Dr. Ray Doswell, Dr. Latonia Collins-Smith, Michael McMillan, Ms.
Dorianne Johnson, and a member from both the Harris-Stowe State University softball and baseball team.
"Today we celebrate all of the hard work and dedication everyone has put in to making this project happen." Said Harris-Stowe State University Director of Athletics, Ms.
Dorianne Johnson. "We are truly blessed to have such a state of the art facility that our baseball and softball teams can call home. Stars Park has a rich history in the landscape of baseball in St. Louis and we are proud to keep that history alive. I would like to thank the St. Louis Cardinals, Clayco, and everyone involved for their commitment to making this project happen!"
Harris-Stowe State University and the St. Louis Cardinals broke ground on Stars Park on July 14th, 2020. The state-of-the-art NAIA level baseball and softball field renovation is the result of a seven-figure investment by Cardinals Care and six-figure investment by Harris-Stowe that includes fully irrigated fields, seating for 200 at the baseball field and 100 at the softball field, enclosed press boxes, enclosed NAIA level dugouts, and new scoreboards.
