ST. LOUIS, Mo. – With a 7-0 win over Talladega College on Monday afternoon, Harris-Stowe women's soccer improved their record to 9-0 on the season behind three goals from Rachael Manley and two from Mary Grace Angeli.

The Hornets posted seven goals and were backed by the defense, who allowed no shots against their starting goaltender and reigning American Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Lisa Peitz.

Mary Grace Angeli kick-started the offense early for the home team, scoring a goal in the 16th minute. Scot Vorwold's squad continued to fire shots until Isabella Tedesco gave her team the separation they were looking for with a goal in the 36th minute.

One minute into the second half, Angeli scored again off Leslie Ballard's pass to make it 3-0. Rachael Manley continued to pour it on with a goal three minutes later, followed by two more in the 59th and 65th minutes.

The seventh and final goal from the Hornets came off the foot of Malou Hagedorn after taking a pass from Layla Weston.

In total, the HSSU offensive attack tallied 22 shot attempts, put nine on goal, and forced good chances off their eight corner kicks.

The Hornets look to continue their unbeaten streak in the October 2 matchup against Lyon College. The opening kickoff against the Scots is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Hornet Field.
