ST. LOUIS – In an intense contest, the Harris-Stowe women's soccer team fell short against the Spartans of Missouri Baptist University.
Both teams were able to score in the opening 45-minutes but the Spartans were able to score in the final 45 as well, in order to claim a 2-1 victory. The first goal of the contest was attributed to MBU's team at the 6:09 mark. Mary Grace Angeli scored for the Hornets at 18:51 to even the score at one.
In the second half, Mara George scored for the Spartans at 53:22, giving them the edge.
HSSU tallied 14 shots, with six (2) being on goal. Hornet's goalkeeper, Ondrea Montgomery recorded four saves, while conceding two goals.
