Box Score ST. LOUIS – The Hornets of Harris-Stowe State University opened their 2022 season at #21 Missouri Valley College on Sunday.
Harris-Stowe recorded three shots with one being on goal during the contest. The goalkeepers allowed four goals combined while recording 11 saves.
Rachael Manley showed leadership and passion as she recorded two of the Hornets shots.
Lillian Ruckaberle landed the shot-on-goal for Harris-Stowe.
Ondrea Montgomery played the opening half for the Hornets, recorded six saves while allowing three goals. In the second,
Amelie Durupt entered for HSSU. She recorded five saves while allowing one goal.
Missouri Valley scored in the 4:45 and 5:11 mark in the first-half, when Laura Quero and Llara Llorente scored. Llorente was found in scoring position by Ashley Arribas. In the 43
rd minute of the opening half, Natalia Ruiz scored on a pass from Rina Kinami. The Vikings final goal came in at 76:57 on a penalty kick by Ruiz.
Harris-Stowe will host the Mighty Oaks of Oakland City University on Sunday at 1:00 pm at Hornet's Field.
