ST. LOUIS – The Hornets men and women's track team traveled over to Bloomington, Illinois, to compete in the Titan First Chance Meet on Saturday, February 11, 2023.
In a day of achievements, the Hornets blazed. Shamari Long recorded an 8.49 and Nyah Parker recorded an 8.53 in the 60-meter dash preliminaries. Long also competed in the 200-meterand finished in 28.50.
In the women's long jump, Parker finished in the top five, with a jump of 5.07m, while Long tallied a distance of 4.44m. In the long jump, Parker finished in second with a jump of 10.91m.
On the men's side, Richard McNary completed the 60m preliminaries in 7.27 while Xavier Flemister finished with a time of 7.35 and Anthony Washington recorded a time of 7.62. In the 200m Flemister recorded a time of 23.81 and McNary finished with a time of 24.57. In the 400m, Washington finished with a time of 55.94.
In the shot put, Cornell Robinson finished with a distance of 10.20m.
