Scot Vorwold has decided to step down as the Head Men's Soccer Coach after three seasons in the role. He will continue to serve as the Head Women's Soccer Coach, a role in which he is the winningest coach in program history.
During the three seasons that Coach Vorwold was the Head Men's Soccer Coach, he led the team to 25 wins, an AMC Tournament Championship game appearance and two AMC Tournament Semi-Final appearances. In the seven seasons prior to Coach Vorwold taking over the men's program, the men's soccer team had won a total of 23 games.
On the decision, Coach Vorwold stated, "This was truly a tough decision. I believe that this is the best for the future of both the men's and women's programs. I love these guys so much . These three years were nothing short of amazing . I will carry these memories for the rest of my life . Men's soccer is in an amazing position . Big things are coming and I can't wait to watch!
Director of Athletics, William A. Carey, shared, "This was an extremely difficult decision for Coach Vorwold to make but he believed that it was in the best interest of both the men's and women's soccer program, which is a testament to the level of care he has for both programs as well as the soccer student athletes. We thank Coach Vorwold for his service to the men's soccer program."
A search for the next Head Men's Soccer Coach will begin immediately.
