BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Harris-Stowe State University men's track and field team competed at the Titan First Chance Meet hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University on Friday evening.
Freshman thrower
Jabbar Granberry finished fifth in the weight throw with a school record throw of 15.37 meters (50-5.25). Granberry also recorded a mark of 11.81 meters (38-9) in the shot put.
Freshman sprinter Emmanuel Bonsu finished fifth in the 60-meters preliminary round with a time of 7.10 seconds and finished eighth in the finals with a time of 7.26 seconds. Bonsu finished the 200-meters in a time of 23.86 meters to finish 16th.
Junior sprinter
Caleb Carter finished the 60-meter in 7.62 seconds. He ran 24.73 seconds in the 200-meter and 56.26 in the 400-meter.
Freshman thrower
Aaron Beasley record a throw of 11.82 meters (38-9.50) in the shot put.Â
Freshman sprinter
John Griffin finished the 200-meter in 26.24 seconds. He recorded a time of 55.10 seconds in the 400-meter and 2:37.35 in the 800-meter.
Junior thrower
Sherodd Tate recorded a throw of 12.28 meters (40-3.50) in the weight throw and 11.91 meters (39-1) in the shot put.
Junior sprinter
Nigel Todd completed the 400-meter in 1:02.01.
The Hornets return to the track on Friday, January 16th at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The time has yet to be determined.Â
