ELSAH, Ill. - Harris-Stowe State University men's track and field team competed at the American Midwest Conference Indoor Championships. The men's team finished sixth out of nine teams with 32 points.
Junior sprinter
Xavier Flemister (Minneapolis, Minn.) finished second in the 200-meter dash in 22.68. He placed fourth in the preliminary round of the 60-meter dash in 7.06 seconds to qualify for the finals. In the 60, finals Flemister ran 6.99 to finish third. Flemister finished fourth in the high jump with a personal best height of 1.88 meters (6-2).
Junior sprinter
Richard McNary (St. Louis, Mo.) finished seventh in the 200-meter dash in 23.14 seconds. McNary finished fifth in the 60-meter dash in 7.17 in the preliminary round and then fifth in the finals in 7.09 seconds.
Junior mid-distance Kenneth Sigler (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway South) finished 11th in the mile in 5:00.48 and seventh in the 800 meter in a personal best 2:18.88.Â
Freshman sprinter
David Robinson finished 15th in the 400-meter in a personal best 1:00.72 and eighth in the 800 in 2:26.16.
Sigler, Robinson, Flemister and McNary finished fifth in the 4x400 relay in a time of 3:51.75.
Freshman sprinter
Stephan Harris finished 11th in the long jump with a personal best leap of 5.16 meters (16-11.75), 23rd in the 60-meter in 8.10 seconds, and 26th in the 200-meter in a personal best time of 25.25 seconds.
Junior sprinter
Joshua Kirksey finished 20th in the 60-meter in a personal best time of 7.78 seconds and 30th in the 200-meter in a personal best time of 25.91 seconds.Â
Freshman sprinter
Eric Bland finished 13th in the 600 in a personal best time of 1:34.81 and 28th in the 200 in a personal best time of 25.49.
Freshman sprinter Dewuan Minigan finished 22nd in the 60 meter in a personal best time of 7.86 and personal best in the 200 in 25.88 to finish 29th.
The Hornets return to action on Wednesday, February 19th at 4:30 pm at the Principia Jumps & Throws Mini Meet hosted by Principia College in Elsah, Ill.
