Men's Track Breaks Four School Records

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University men's track and field team competed at the Billiken Invite hosted by Saint Louis University on Saturday.

Junior sprinter Xavier Flemister (Minneapolis, Minn.) ran a personal best and set a new school record in the 100-meter dash in a time of 10.87 seconds and set a new school record and personal best in the 200-meter dash in 21.38 seconds.

Junior mid-distance runner Kenneth Sigler (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway North) ran a new personal best and school record in both the 800 and 1500. Sigler ran 2:08.98 in the 800 and 4:27.85 in the 1500.

Senior sprinter Romel Nix (Chicago, Ill.) ran a personal best 1:02.69 in the 400 and a personal best 2:24.90 in the 800.

Senior sprinter Bennie Amos III (New Orleans, La./Delgado Community College) finished the 100 in 11.78 seconds and ran a personal best in the 200 in 23.27 seconds.

Junior sprinter Richard McNary (St. Louis, Mo.) finished the 100 in 11.45 seconds. 

The Hornets return to action next Friday, April 4th and Saturday, April 5th at the Southeast Missouri State meet in Cape Giradeau, Mo. with Friday beginning at 3:30 pm and Saturday at 11 am.
