LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Harris-Stowe State University men's track and field team competed at the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Indoor National Championships on Saturday hosted by Kentucky State. The Hornets finished sixth with 31 points in the small schools division.
Junior distance runner Kenneth Sigler (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway North) finished second in the mile in a personal best time of 4:49.52 and sixth in the 800 meter in a personal best time of 2:10.98.
Junior sprinter
Xavier Flemister (Minneapolis, Minn.) finished sixth in the preliminary round of the 60-meter dash in 6.98 seconds before finishing sixth in the finals in 7.00 seconds. Flemister also finished sixth in the 200-meter dash in 22.01 seconds.
Freshman mid-distance runner
David Robinson finished second in the 600 in a personal best time of 1:37.78 and ninth in the 800 in 2:24.60.
Freshman sprinter
Eric Bland finished third in the 600 in 1:38.49. Junior sprinter
Richard McNary (St. Louis, Mo.) finished 12th in the 60-meter dash in 7.15 seconds and 11th in the 200-meter dash in 23.10 seconds.
The Hornets return to action for their first outdoor meet of the season next Saturday, March 15th at the CMU Open at Central Methodist in Fayette, Mo. beginning at 10 am.
