EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Harris-Stowe State University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Cougar Classic hosted by Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Saturday.
Junior thrower
Ramaya Atuatasi (San Diego, Calif./Hoover) recorded a personal best in the hammer throw and discus. In the hammer she recorded a throw 35.65 meters (116-11) and 23.09 meters (75-9) in the discus.
Junior sprinter
Joshua Kirksey ran a personal record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.52 seconds. Freshman sprinter Dewuan Minigan ran a personal record in the 200 with 24.94 seconds.
Senior thrower
Damajee Brown recorded a throw of 41.55 meters (136-4) in the hammer throw.Â
Junior sprinter
Richard McNary (St. Louis, Mo.) recorded a jump of 5.40 meters (17-8.75) in the long jump. Senior sprinter and thrower
Shamari Long (Chicago, Ill.) recorded a throw of 29.63 meters (97-2) in the javelin.
Freshman thrower
Saniya Thomas recorded a throw of 33.89 meters (111-2) in the hammer and a throw of 19.76 meters (64-10) in the javelin.
McNary, senior sprinter
Bennie Amos III (New Orleans, La./Delgado Community College), freshman sprinter
Stephan Harris, and junior sprinter
Xavier Flemister (Minneapolis, Minn.) ran 47.17 in the 4x100 meter relay.
Both teams are back in action next Saturday, April 19th at the Dewey Allgood Invite hosted by Missouri S&T at 11 am.
