ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University softball fell 19-1 in game one and 15-1 in game two of the doubleheader to Crowley's Ridge College on Monday afternoon at Stars Park. With the two losses, the Lady Hornets fall to 1-33 on the season and 0-18 in American Midwest Conference play while the Pioneers improve to 15-19 on the season and 6-8 in AMC play.
In game one, the Pioneers scored two runs in the first, six in the second and three in the third to hold an 11-0 lead after two and a half. Senior infielder
Christal Smith (Jacksonville, Fla./Terry Parker) singled to right and advanced to second on a throwing error by the rightfielder. Smith would end up stealing third. Senior outfielder
Lyric McGilberry (Orlando, Fla./St. Charles Community College) singled to right to score Smith. The Pioneers would score eight in the fourth to push their lead to 19-1.

Jaden Crenshaw (Killeen, Texas/Robert M. Shoemaker) all recorded a hit in the game.Â
In game two, the Pioneers scored one in the first, four in the third, three in the fourth and seven in the fifth to hold a 15-0 lead going into the bottom of the fifth. McGilberry reached on an infield single to second to start the bottom of the fifth. Huff reached on and error and McGilberry made it to third. Freshman infielder
Michaela Thomas (Fort Pierce, Fla./Fort Pierce Westwood Academy) reached on a fielders choice as McGilberry would score.
Huff, Thomas, Crenshaw and McGilberry all recorded a hit in the game.
The Lady Hornets return to action on Wednesday, April 16th at 2:30 and 4:30 pm against LeMoyne-Owen at Stars Park.
