EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Harris-Stowe State University men's track and field team competed at the American Midwest Conference Outdoor Championship on Wednesday and Thursday at Ralph Korte Stadium on the campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. The Hornets finished eighth with 25 points.
Junior sprinter
Xavier Flemister (Minneapolis, Minn.) finished second in the 100-meter dash semifinals with a time of 10.99. In the finals of the 100, he ran 10.85 seconds to finish second. In the semis of the 200, Flemister ran 22.46 seconds to finish fourth and ran 23.26 in the finals to finish eighth. Flemister also recorded a height of 1.66 meters (5-5.25) in the high jump.
Junior sprinter
Richard McNary (St. Louis, Mo.) ran 11.23 seconds in the 100 semis to finish seventh and ran 11.20 in the finals to finish sixth. In the 200, McNary ran a 22.62 in the semis to finish sixth and 22.88 in the finals to finish seventh.

Bennie Amos III (New Orleans, La./Delgado Community College) and freshman sprinter
Tesfazghi Emerson finished third in the 4x100 meter relay in 43.56 seconds.
Emerson finished fourth in the high jump with a personal record height of 1.84 meters (6-0.5) and ran a personal record 54.49 seconds in the 400 meters.
Junior mid-distance runner Kenneth Sigler (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway North) ran a personal best in the 1500 meter in 4:27.55.
Amos III finished the 100 in 12.02 seconds and the 200 in 23.75 seconds. Freshman sprinter Dewuan Minigan finished the 100 in 12.17 seconds and ran a personal record 24.58 in the 200.
Freshman mid-distance
David Robinson ran a personal record in the 400 in 1:00.66 and a personal record in the 800 in 2:16.97. Junior sprinter
Joshua Kirksey finished the 100 in 12.38 seconds and the 200 in 26.92 seconds.
The Hornets return to action next Friday and Saturday, May 9th and 10th at the last chance meet hosted by the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.
