ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's soccer ended in a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon at Hornets Field against Williams Baptist University. With the draw, the Lady Hornets are 3-4-2 on the season and 0-0-1 in American Midwest Conference play while the Lady Eagles are 6-3-2 on the season and 0-0-1 in AMC play.

Junior defender Emma Noelle Rolfes (Bielefeld, Germany/Hawkeye CC) would have her header saved by the keeper in the 10th minute. Rolfes would again have her header saved on a diving save by the keeper in the 17th minute. Junior forward Laura Bordiga (Valdaone, Italy/Liceo Musicale Bonporti/Monroe College/Pratt CC) was turned away in the 17th minute. The Lady Eagles would strike in the 27th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Bordiga would make a crossing pass into the box that found the foot of senior defender Moenesa Mejias (Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago/Lewis and Clark CC) as Mejias would go to the far-side post past the diving keeper to tie the game at one in the 41st minute.Â

Junior midfielder Anna Beatriz Mourao Sousa (Sao Luis, Maranhao, Brazil/Western Iowa Tech CC) was unable to give the Lady Hornets the lead as her shot was stopped by the keeper in the 50th minute. Freshman goalkeeper Kheilani Alexander (Dallas, Texas/Life High School Waxahachie) kept the game tied at one in the 63rd minute with a save. Alexander would once again keep the game tied with a save in the 77th minute. Rolfes was denied a goal on her header off of a corner kick from Bordiga. Mejias had a chance to score in the 87th minute and would be turned away. Both keepers would hold strong to keep the game tied at 1-1 as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Alexander would make four saves in net. Rolfes had three shots with all on goal.

The Lady Hornets held a 13-7 advantage in shots, 7-5 in shots on goal and 8-0 in corner kicks.
