ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University men's track and field teams competed at the WashU Invite hosted by Washington University on Friday and Saturday.

Junior thrower Sherodd Tate recorded a fourth place finish in the discus with a personal best throw of 40.72 meters (133-7). Tate finished sixth in the hammer throw with a throw of 45.53 meters (149-4). Tate recorded a school record throw of 40.16 meters (131-9) in the javelin. Tate also recorded a throw of 12.34 meters (40-6) in the shot put.

Freshman sprinter Emmanuel Bonsu recorded a personal best time of 21.47 in the 200-meters to finish fifth. Bonsu also recorded a personal best time of 52.95 in the 400-meters.

Freshman thrower Jabbar Granberry recorded a personal best throw of 43.55 meters (142-10) in the hammer throw. Granberry also recorded a throw of 11.87 meters (38-11.50) in the shot put.

Sophomore sprinter Umar Lawson (Sumter, S.C./Voorhees University) recorded a personal best time of 25.06 in the 200. Lawson also recorded a personal best jump of 6.12 meters (20-1) in the long jump to place fourth in school history.

Sophomore sprinter Detroit Walker recorded a time of 15.98 in the 110-meter hurdles and a time of 1:07.30 in the 400-meter hurdles.

Freshman sprinter John Griffin recorded a personal best time of 23.64 in the 200-meters and a personal best time of 52.54 in the 400.

Junior sprinter Caleb Carter recorded a time of 53.55 in the 400 and a time of 23.68 in the 200.

Freshman thrower Aaron Beasley recorded a throw of 30.13 meters (98-10) in the javelin. Beasley also recorded a throw of 11.05 meters (36-3) in the shot put.

Freshman sprinter Aidan Smith recorded a time of 1:03.55 in the 400-meter hurdles.

The team of Walker, Bonsu, Griffin and Carter recorded a season-best time of 43.67 in the 4x100 meter relay.
