ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University softball fell 9-0 in game one and 11-6 in game two against Mission University on Monday afternoon at Stars Park. With the losses, the Lady Hornets fall to 2-18 on the season and 1-11 in American Midwest Conference play while the Patriots improve to 15-9 on the season and 4-2 in AMC play.

Game 1:
The Patriots scored one run in the first, three in the fourth and five in the fifth.Â

Senior outfielder Noemi Tudon (Houston, Texas/Waldorf University) and junior outfielder Karmen Daniels (St. Louis, Mo./Fontbonne University) both recorded a hit.

Game 2:
In the bottom of the first, junior second baseman Rakiara Bogan (Cape Girardeau, Mo./Mineral Area College) singled to lead off. Sophomore catcher Brianna Huff (Columbus, Ohio/Private Tree of Life Christian College Preparatory High School) doubled to center to move Bogan to third. Junior utility player A'Kiayah Scales (St. Louis, Mo./Mineral Area College) singled to center to score Bogan and a throwing error would allow Huff to score to make it 2-0 Lady Hornets.Â

The Patriots would score three in the third and two in the fourth to take a 5-2 lead.

Scales singled down the left field line with one-out to start the rally in the bottom of the fifth. Tudon reached on a bunt single. Daniels would reach on a bunt single to load the bases. Freshman infielder Crystal McFerren (St. Louis, Mo./Fort Zumwalt North High School) singled to center to score Scales to cut the deficit to 5-3. Junior outfielder Zyon Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Lincoln University) singled with two-outs to score Tudon and Daniels to tie the game at five after five innings. The Patriots scored four runs in the sixth to take a 9-5 lead.

Bogan led off the bottom of the sixth with a walk. Scales doubled to center to move Bogan to third. Bogan would score on a wild pitch to cut the deficit to 9-6. The Patriots extended their lead to 11-6 with two runs in the seventh.

Scales and McFerren recorded three hits, Tudon recorded two hits while Bogan, Huff, Daniels and Williams recorded one hit. Williams recorded two runs batted in while Scales and McFerren recorded one run batted in apiece.

The Lady Hornets return to action on Tuesday, April 7th at 2 and 4 pm at Stars Park against Central Baptist.
