ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Harris-Stowe State University and the Department of Athletics proudly announce the eight members of the Inaugural Harris-Stowe State University Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2026, recognizing individuals whose achievements, leadership, service, and lasting contributions have helped shape the proud tradition of Hornet Athletics.

The establishment of the Athletic Hall of Fame marks a historic milestone for Harris-Stowe State University. Created to celebrate excellence and preserve the University's rich athletic history, the Hall of Fame will honor outstanding student-athletes, coaches, administrators, teams, and contributors who have represented Harris-Stowe with distinction.

The 2026 Inaugural Harris-Stowe State University Athletic Hall of Fame Class includes:
 

Angela Coonce — Women's Basketball

Coonce is recognized for her outstanding contributions to Harris-Stowe women's basketball and her place in the history of the Hornets' women's basketball program.

Dennis Currier — Men's Soccer Coach

Currier is honored for his leadership and contributions as a men's soccer coach, helping build and advance the tradition of Harris-Stowe soccer.

Dr. Derrick Mitchell — Men's Basketball

Mitchell is recognized for his achievements as a Harris-Stowe men's basketball student-athlete and for representing the University with distinction.

Dr. Henry Givens, Jr. — Contributor

Givens is honored as a contributor whose leadership and service made a lasting impact on Harris-Stowe State University and its athletic programs.

Lindsay Kennedy-Eversmeyer — Women's Soccer

Kennedy-Eversmeyer is recognized for her accomplishments in women's soccer and her contributions to the history and tradition of Harris-Stowe Athletics.

Misha Singleton — Women's Track & Field

Singleton is honored for her achievements as a women's track and field student-athlete and for the legacy she established through her athletic accomplishments.

Phil Beerman — Men's Soccer

Beerman is recognized for his accomplishments as a men's soccer student-athlete and his contributions to the proud history of the Harris-Stowe soccer program.

Valerie Beeson — Contributor

Beeson is honored for her dedicated service and lasting contributions to Harris-Stowe State University Athletics and generations of Hornet student-athletes.

The inaugural class will be formally inducted during the Harris-Stowe State University Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Banquet on Thursday, October 22, 2026.

The celebration will continue during Homecoming on Saturday, October 24, 2026, when the inductees will receive a special on-court recognition between the Harris-Stowe women's and men's basketball games.

The inaugural ceremony represents the beginning of a new tradition at Harris-Stowe State University—one that connects generations of Hornets while preserving the stories, achievements, and individuals who have contributed to the University's athletic legacy.

The Harris-Stowe State University Athletic Hall of Fame was established to recognize competitive excellence, leadership, character, and service while celebrating those whose contributions have strengthened the University and its athletic programs.
