Coach Mosby is a product of the East St. Louis 189 School District. During his time as a high school student-athlete at East St. Louis Sr. High School, Coach Mosby played basketball and was a state qualifier in the high jump; he graduated in 1987 from East St. Louis Sr. High School. Brian attended Tennessee State University for a year, and transferred to Highland Community College, in Freeport Illinois as a scholarship player from 1990-1992. During that time, he received All Conference Honors and graduated with an Associate Degree in Sports Medicine.

 

Coach Mosby was recruited to play at Northern Illinois University, doing the 1993 season. Due to eligibility requirements, he was not able to compete at the NCAA Division 1 level because his eligibility had run out. However he was still able to play collegiate basketball as he was recruited by the Harris-Stowe State College Men’s Basketball team to play out the remaining two semesters of his career. As a student-athlete, Brian assisted with coaching and conditioning under his coach at the time, (Lonnie Cole), until he completed his degree program; he is an alumnus of Harris-Stowe State University, graduating in 2004 with his Bachelor of Science Degree.  Coach Mosby's history and personal ties with Harris-Stowe remain strong. His wife of 17 years (Keeva) also attended Harris-Stowe as a student athlete. They have 3 girls and 2 boys to add to the rich tradition.

 

Coach Mosby brings a wealth of experience to the University having over 20 Years of weight training and physical fitness training experience, over 17 years of coaching experience, and over 8 years of head coaching experience as the Head Coach of St. Louis Job Corps Trojans Varsity Males Basketball team, winning a National Title in 2011, making 4 national appearances, and winning 8 Regional Championships. Coach Mosby also adds to his resume having 6 scholarship athletes recruited and sign NLI (National Letter of Intent) to play NJCAA and NAIA collegiate sports from the Job Corps level.
