Brittany Stewart was named Assistant Athletic Director for Wellness and Programming on July 1, 2022. She has also been serving as the Head Women's Volleyball Coach since the 2018 season.

The 2022 season for Women's Volleyball was one for the "HER"story books as the Hornets finished 14-12, a program record for wins and winning percentage, including an incredible .700 winning percentage on the road. Juniors Nickeal Clarke and Jayden Sortor, who was also named to the American Midwest Conference (AMC) All-Tournament team, were both named AMC Second-Team All-Conference while seniors A'Nia Ware and Ariyonna Johnson were both named All-Conference Honorable Mention. Seven volleyball players were also included on the Academic All-Conference Team for having earned a GPA of a 3.0 or higher. Four volleyball players, Ariyonna Johnson, Queen Patterson, Ariel Stroud and Mallorie Wooten, were named to the Academic All-District Team by College Sports Communications for having earned a GPA of a 3.5 or higher. Those same four volleyball student athletes were also named Daktronics Scholar-Athletes for the 2022 season

Stewart also serves on the Board of Athletic Administrators for the American Midwest Conference as well as being a member of the Development Committee for the Harris-Stowe State University Foundation.

Prior to arriving to Harris-Stowe State University, Stewart served as a teacher for three years in the St. Louis community, a Behavior Specialist for two years, and a Mental Health Case Worker/Counselor.

Stewart graduated from Kentucky State University with a Bachelor's in Child Development and Family Relations. She then went on to earn her Master's Degree in Nonprofit Leadership from Webster University.

Originally from East St. Louis, Illinois, Stewart is very close with her mother, Monica Stewart, her sister, Breonna Johnson, her nieces, Kimora and Kihlanni, as well as her grandmothers, Karen and Delmarie.
