ST. LOUIS, Mo. – This afternoon the Harris-Stowe women's soccer team was back on the pitch when they played host to the Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) University Trojans in their first AMC match of the season. The Hornets were able to defeat the Trojans by a final score of 2-0 to improve to 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in the AMC.
The Hornets came out in the first half and controlled the possession from the start. Harris-Stowe was finally able to get on the board with just three minutes to play in the half when Lizette Popoca (SR/Waukegan, Ill. ) finished off a pass from Malou Hagedorn (SO/Warstein, Germany) for her first goal of the season to give the Hornets a 1-0 lead at the break.
