ST. LOUIS – The Hornets of Harris-Stowe State University women's basketball team will return home to host the Toppers of Blue Mountain College on Thursday, November 11th.
The women's team improved to 2-0 on the season after defeating Lincoln College (Ill.) on Homecoming 65-64 and on the road 67-53.
In the first meeting of these two teams, Destiney Amaefula paced the Hornets with 13-points and steals while Deyana Dodd added seven-rebounds, six-points, three steals and one block.
In the second meeting, Dodd carried the team with 15-points, four-steals, and three-rebounds; while Surina Finnie added 15-points, two-rebounds and one steal. Keuna Cummings pulled down eight-rebounds to aide in Harris-Stowe's victory.
Blue Mountain enters the contest with a record of 2-1, after falling 84-56 to Freed-Hardeman in their last outing. Carmen Taylor recorded 19-points and Charnita Brooks added 13 for the Toppers.
Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m. in the Emerson Performance Center.
