ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Harris-Stowe men's soccer took care of business on Monday afternoon, extending their winning streak to four games after downing the Iowa Wesleyan University Tigers 3-0.

The Hornets improved their record to 5-1 in 2021 behind a strong team performance on defense and a trio of goals.

The home team struck early in the first half when Juan Sebastian Moreno found the back of the net with a goal just 4:54 into the game. Six minutes later, Tjorven Bruns took a corner kick off Ricardo Benini and widened the lead with his first goal of the season.

Strong defense in the second half and a Victor Diez Aguilar goal in the 72nd minute finished off the Tigers for good, giving HSSU their fourth consecutive victory heading into conference play. In total, the defense allowed just seven shots and only one got through to starting goalkeeper Joshua Precious.

The Hornets are back at it on Monday, September 20 to take on the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in a home contest beginning at 3 p.m.
