ST. LOUIS – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their 2022 Men's and Women's Soccer Academic All-District teams on November 15th. The Harris-Stowe State University women's soccer team had five scholars to make the team. On the men's side, four Hornets made the All-District team.
The 2022 Academic All-District teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in late December.
Mary Grace Angeli, Madlen Bodewig, Yasmina Dressen, Malou Hagedorn and Rachael Manley are the All-District honorees for the HSSU women's team.
Tjorven Bruns, Haimar Garcia Guzman, Massimo Kluever and Gabriel Rusitschka were each named to the men's All-District team.
To be considered for Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her institution.
Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form (where applicable). Additionally, nominees must have completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
