ST. LOUIS – The Harris-Stowe women's soccer team played hostess to the Mustangs of Central Baptist College in the Quarterfinals of the American Midwest Conference Women's Soccer Championships on Friday afternoon.
In a win or go home situation, the Hornets rose to the occasion, defeating the Mustangs 4-1. CBC's Vitoria Loiola struck first with a goal at the 26:44 of the first half and then it was all Harris-Stowe. Anna Schulte scored on a pass from Rosa Schellmann.
Rachael Manley landed a hat trick to aid the Hornets in their win. Lillian Ruckaberle assisted on Manley's first and Yasmina Dressen on the final two.
With the win, HSSU will have a short drive on Monday for the semi-finals as they face the #2 Missouri Baptist at 7:00 pm.
