ST. LOUIS – The Hornets men's soccer team fell to Williams Baptist 5-2 in the semi-finals of the 2022 AMC Men's Soccer Championship (Tournament).
Harris-Stowe took an early lead when Juan Sebastian Moren scored back to back goals. The first came at 5:13 and the second at 10:31. WBU did not score until the 38:38 mark when Thiago Nascimento managed to get beyond the Hornet's defense with the assistance of Gabriel Di Mauro.
Leading 2-1, until the final minutes of the contest, the Hornets were unable to prevent the tying goal at 86:36 by Gabriel de Paula. Williams Baptist scored once in the first OT period and twice in the second to solidify their win. Their final goals were scored by Jacobo Obradors (Emmanuel Devolder and Ivan Perez), Perez (Hugo Gil) and Fernando Paya (Lucas Camilo).
HSSU's goalie Jelle Dik recorded seven saves while conceding five goals in 110:00 of play.
