ST. LOUIS – In an instant classic, the Hornets defeated the Lyon College Scots 76-71.
In the first 20 minutes of play, the Hornets and Scots battled for the edge and it showed. With the score tied at 34, neither team was able to take the advantage into the break, essentially putting pressure on both teams for the final half. Scoring 42 and holding Lyon to 37, secured the win for Harris-Stowe.
Antwan Campbell dominated with 21-points, seven rebounds, three steals and one assist. Patrick Evans added 15-points, four rebounds and one steal. Taj Toney also finished with 15-points, two rebounds and two assists. Ken Martin tallied 12-points, six rebounds, three steals and one assist.
Israel Palmer paced the Scots with 14-points, six rebounds, four steals, two assists and one block.
Harris-Stowe will be back in action on Tuesday, December 6th at 7:30 pm, when they host Southeastern Illinois College.
