ST. LOUIS – The Harris-Stowe women's basketball suffered a tough 83-65 loss against the Scots of Lyon College.
In an intense match-up, both teams fought hard and the breakdown per quarter proved it. In the first quarter, Lyon scored 18, while holding Harris-Stowe to 16. In the second, the Scots extended their lead scoring 23 to 13. After the break, HSSU scored 18 and LC scored 22. In the final period, Lyon scored 20 and Harris-Stowe scored 18.
Destiney Amaefula scored 24-points, four rebounds, two steals and one assist. Samara Swire tallied 16-points, five assists, three rebounds and three steals. Kya Gordon finished with eight points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal. Autumn Brown had a great night with five rebounds, four points and two steals.
Allison Byars paced the Scots with 33-points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Harris-Stowe will be back in action in an exhibition at Webster University on Friday, December 9th at 6:00 pm.
