ST. LOUIS - The Department of Athletics believes in providing the very best to the student-athletes that represent Harris-Stowe State University. In order to give the best, the staff most be well-trained within their field. From June 28-July 1, 2022, Athletic Trainer Bruce Smith attended the National Athletic Trainers' Association Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 

During the convention, Smith was able to network with one of the athletic trainers from Truman State. Over the course of the conversation, Truman State's athletic trainer agreed to send interns to Harris-Stowe, while Smith agreed to speak with interested students about the masters in athletic training program at Truman.

The convention offered sessions on mental health, concussion, and best practices in injury prevention and rehabilitation. Vendors were also available with updated equipment to assist with both recovery and injury recovery.
