ST. LOUIS – The Harris-Stowe State University Hornets will host the Mighty Oaks of Oakland City College in a double-header on Sunday, August 28^th. Women will kick-off at 1:00 pm, while the men are scheduled for 3:00 pm.

Last year the men's soccer team was narrowly defeated by Oakland City, 2-1 in overtime. This contest serves as the home and regular season opener for Harris-Stowe.

"The guys are anxious to get back on the field and start our 2022 campaign. This game is extra special from the returners since we dropped a heartbreaker in overtime on the road against them last year," stated Head Coach Scot Vorwold.

The contest serves as the home campaign opener for the women's team. Last Sunday, HSSU dropped the season opener 4-0 to the 21 ranked Missouri Valley College. Harris-Stowe is looking to extend their winning streak over Oakland City to five.

Last season, the Hornets served the Mighty Oaks a 2-0 shutout, while on the road. Currently, HSSU leads OCC 4-2 in the series.

Head Coach Vorwold said, "The ladies are looking to rebound against another tough opponent to go even on the year. We are looking to continue our unbeaten streak at home.
