ST. LOUIS – The Hornets women's soccer team traveled to Kansas City to face Avila University in an afternoon contest. It was an intense match-up where neither team was able to edge the other out, leading to a 2-2 finish.

In the opening half, the Hornets scored the only goal when Rachael Manley was able to capitalize on a play by Leslie Ballard and Yasmina Dressen.

Exiting the break, Jasmin Kraus launched a perfect shot for the goal on a pass from Manley.

The game was far from over as Avila continued to battle. In the 74^th minute Kirryn Killingsworth scored to cut the Hornets lead in half. In the 79^th minute, Morgan Pettlon knotted the contest at two on a pass from Miriam Solorio.

Harris-Stowe landed 12 on target shots. Defensively, the team was a fortress, aside from the two goals, Avila's offensive attack was smothered.

September 17^th the Hornets will be in Saint Mary of the Woods, Indiana, to face Saint Mary-Of-The-Woods College. Game time is set for 1:00 pm.
