On Thursday, February 2nd, Gateway Metro Credit Union became the newest sponsor of Harris-Stowe Athletics. The President of Gateway Metro Credit Union, Jay Lewis, and Marketing Representative, Jeri Peterson, presented the check for $6,000.00 to Harris-Stowe Director of Athletics, William A. Carey, and Director of Athletic Marketing and Development, Denale Powell, following the first quarter of the women's basketball game vs. Williams Baptist.

Gateway Metro Credit Union Chief Development Officer, Mary Elliot, said, "It was truly a great atmosphere and I hope we can help make a difference for many on campus."

The sponsorship will go towards improving the overall student athlete experience.

"Thank you to Gateway Metro Credit Union for being open to this new sponsorship." said Denale Powell. "I think it will be a great ongoing partnership to help our scholar athletes in preparation for future opportunities."

The sponsorship will cover game day costs, t-shirts for Men's Basketball, Women's basketball, and Track & Field, as well as two $1,000.00 scholarships awarded to student athletes. In addition, Gateway Metro Credit Union will also host a financial literacy workshop for all Harris-Stowe student athletes.
