CONWAY, Ark. - Harris-Stowe State University women's soccer picked up a 5-0 win on Saturday afternoon against Central Baptist College. With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 4-5-1 on the season and 1-2 in American Midwest Conference play while the Mustangs fall to 0-6-1 and 0-3 in AMC play.
Sophomore midfielder
Katharina Salomon (Vienna, Austria/HLTW Bergheidengasse) would get the scoring started for the Lady Hornets in the 10th minute after she took a pass from junior midfielder
Alexandra Ribas Marcondes Forcelius (Curitiba, Brazil/TecPuc/SWIC). Just 16 seconds later, Forcelius would take a pass from senior midfielder
Laura Caceres (Bogota, Colombia/Colegio John F Kennedy/Paris Junior College) to put the Lady Hornets up 2-0.
In the 37th minute, senior defender
Brianna Williams (Peoria, Ill./Metamora/Illinois Central College) would push the lead to 3-0 after a misplay by the Mustangs goalkeeper. The Lady Hornets would carry a 3-0 lead into halftime.
Senior midfielder
Annalisa Castro (Udine, Italy/IT Zanon/Reinhardt University) would score in the 50th minute to push the lead to 4-0 after she would take a free kick from 30 yards away. Salomon would score her second of the game in the 57th minute off of the assist from senior midfielder
Yasmina Dressen (Herzogenrath, Germany/Europaschule Herzogenrath Stadtische Gesamtschule) to conclude the scoring in the game.
The Lady Hornets held an 18-1 advantage in shots, 9-0 in shots on goal and 5-1 in corner kicks.Â
