CREVE COEUR, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's soccer finished in a 0-0 draw on Wednesday night at Missouri Baptist. With the draw, the Lady Hornets go to 4-5-2 on the season and 1-2-1 in American Midwest Conference play while the Spartans go to 5-8-1 on the season and 3-1-1 in AMC play.
Senior defender
Brianna Williams (Peoria, Ill./Metamora/Illinois Central) would have a chance to put the Lady Hornets in front just 56 seconds into the game, but was turned away by the keeper of the Spartans. Williams would again have a chance to out the Lady Hornets up in the 19th minute but was unable to put it past the keeper. Freshman midfielder
Emma Auer (Kindberg, Austria/HIB Liebenau) would have a chance in the 21st minute to score as the Spartans keeper made the save.
Freshman goalkeeper
Lena-Marie Winkler (Dornbirn, Austria/BORG Schoren) would make a save in the 36th minute to keep the game scoreless. Sophomore midfielder
Katharina Salomon (Vienna, Austria/HLTW Bergheidengasse) would have a chance to score in the final minute of the first half, but was stopped and the game would be scoreless after 45 minutes.
Winkler would keep the game at 0-0 with saves in the 49th, 65th and 83rd minutes. Senior midfielder
Jasmin Kraus (Munich, Germany/Technische FOS Munchen/SWOSU) would have a chance to find the net in the 81st minute, but was turned away.
Winkler would make four saves in the match.
The Lady Hornets and Spartans would both finish with five shots apiece while all five of Harris-Stowe's shots were on goal as the Spartans put four on net. The Lady Hornets would hold a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Lady Hornets return to action on Saturday, October 26th at 1 pm at Hornets Field against Williams Baptist College.
