Women's Soccer Falls to #11 Columbia

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's soccer fell 4-1 to #11 Columbia College at Hornets Field on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 3-5-1 on the season and 0-2 in American Midwest Conference play while the Cougars improve to 6-1-1 and 1-0 in AMC play.

The Lady Hornets would fall behind 1-0 in the 12th minute off of a penalty kick. The Lady Hornets would continue to trail 1-0 after the half.

In the second half the Cougars would add a second goal off of an own goal the put them up 2-0 in the 55th minute. The Cougars would add two more goals in the 61st minute and 71st minute to go up 4-0. 

Senior midfielder Annalisa Castro (Udine, Italy/IT Zanon/Reinhardt University) would get the Lady Hornets on the board in the 72nd minute off of the assist from sophomore midfielder Katharina Salomon (Vienna, Austria/HLTW Bengheidgasse). 

Freshman goalkeeper Lena-Marie Winkler (Dornbirn, Austria/BORG Schoren) made one save in net while senior goalkeeper Andrea Mohn (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway South/St. Louis Community College) made three saves in net.

The Cougars held a 14-5 advantage in shots, 8-3 in shots on goal, and 11-2 in corner kicks.

The Lady Hornets return to action on Saturday, October 12th at 2 pm against Central Baptist College in Conway, Ark.
