ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's volleyball falls in five sets (23-25,25-19,21-25,25-15,13-15) to the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy on Thursday night at Emerson Performance Center on Senior night. With the loss, the Lady Hornets conclude the season 4-23 and 0-11 in American Midwest Conference play while the Eutectics improve to 4-30 and 1-10 in AMC play.

The Lady Hornets, would start set one with back-to-back aces from sophomore setter
Isa Smith (Little Rock, Ark./Joe T. Robinson) and a kill from Sortor to start 3-0. The Eutectics would score the next four points and 10 of the next 13 to go up 10-6 and to force a timeout by the Lady Hornets. After the timeout, the Lady Hornets would go on a 5-1 run thanks to kills from sophomore middle hitter
Saniah Files (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West), Sortor, and freshman middle hitter
Jehireh Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Althoff Catholic) and an ace from sophomore outside hitter
Kyla McReynolds (O'Fallon, Ill./Althoff Catholic). The next fourteen points were split seven aside and leave the score tied at 18. After the Eutectics timeout, the Eutectics would score seven of the last 12 to take the set 25-23.
In set two, after going down 3-1 the Lady Hornets would get kills from sophomore right side hitter
Trinity Edison (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Central), junior outside hitter
A'nyla Watson (Little Rock, Ark./North Little Rock), and Williams while also getting a block from Edison and Williams and two attack errors from the Eutectics to go up 7-3 and force a timeout. Out of the timeout, the Eutectics would go on a 5-1 run to tie the set at eight. After an ace from junior defensive specialist
Makayla Hernandez (San Antonio, Texas/Lawton) and a kill from freshman outside hitter
Kaelin Rubin (Kennedale, Texas/Kennedale) would put the Lady Hornets up 12-8. After the Euctectics cut the lead to 12-10, the Lady Hornets would go on a 7-4 run and force another Eutectics timeout. After the Eutectics cut the lead to 23-19 and force a Lady Hornets timeout freshman outside hitter
Serenity Baker (Desoto, Texas/Desoto) and Williams would close the set with a kill each for a 25-19 Lady Hornets set two win.
The Lady Hornets would start set three the same as the first with a 3-0 lead after an attack error, a kill by Sortor and ace by Smith. The Lady Hornets would hold a 10-5 lead after a kill from sophomore outside hitter
Dejah Foster (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods). The next six points would be split three a piece and force a timeout by the Euctectis as the Lady Hornets led 13-8. The Euctectics would cut the lead to 20-17 and force a Lady Hornets timeout. After the timeout, the Eutectics would go on a 8-1 run to take set three.
In set four, the Lady Hornets would take a 12-7 lead after an attack error and cause the Eutectics to call timeout. After the timeout, Sortor and two aces from McReynolds would put the Lady Hornets up 15-7. An ace from Foster pushed the Lady Hornets lead to 20-9 and force the timeout. After the Eutectics second timeout of the set the Lady Hornets would close set four on a 5-3 run to tie the match at two sets apiece.
The Eutectics would race out to and 8-2 lead in set five. After a kill from Williams to cut the lead to 10-7, the Eutectics would score the next three and go up 13-7. After an ace from McReynolds cut the lead to 11-7 the final four points would be split at two each side and give the Eutectics a five set win.
Sortor would record a match-high 18 kills. Watson added 10 kills in the match while Williams added nine. Smith would record 25 assists in the match. McReynolds recorded a career-high 21 digs while Foster added 15 digs. Williams recorded three solo blocks and four block assists. McReynolds would add seven serve aces. The Lady Hornets recorded season-highs with 53 kills, 74 digs and 47 assists.
