ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University softball fell to Central Baptist College on Saturday afternoon at Hornets Field. The Mustangs took game one 14-0 and took game two 13-0. With the losses the Lady Hornets fall to 0-25 on the season and 0-8 in American Midwest Conference play while the Mustangs improve to 16-14 and 4-0 in AMC play.
In game one, the Mustangs would score one run in the first, five in the second, three in the third, four in the fourth and one in the fifth. Freshman utility player
Gracie Schmitte (San Diego, Calif./Mar Vista) recorded two walks in the game.
In game two, the Mustangs once again scored in the first with a single run before scoring six in the third, four more in the fourth and two in the fifth. Senior first baseman
Teahna Phillips (Jefferson City, Mo.) would record the lone hit for the Lady Hornets in game two.
The Lady Hornets are back in action on Tueday, April 2nd at Hornets Field against Bethel University with game one starting at 2 pm.
