FULTON, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University softball fell in both games of the doubleheader against William Woods University at Backer Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Owls took game one 8-0 and game two 16-0. With the losses the Lady Hornets fall to 0-33 and 0-12 in American Midwest Conference play while the Lady Owls improve to 15-21 and 6-6 in AMC play.
In game one, the Lady Owls scored three runs in each of the first two innings to have a 6-0 lead going into the fourth. The Lady Owls would score one in the fourth and fifth to end game one. Senior utility player
Laurann Brown (New Providence, Bahamas) would record the only hit for the Lady Hornets in game one.
In game two, the Lady Owls would record one run in the first, three in the second, seven in third and five in the fourth. Sophomore outfielder
Juanesha Washington (St. Louis, Mo./Carnahan), freshman pitcher
Desirae Atencio (Albuquerque, NM/Ecademy Virtual), and senior outfielder
Isabella Romualdo (Aiea, Hawaii/Moanalua) all recorded a hit in game two.
The Lady Hornets are back in action on Sunday, April 14th against Cottey College in Nevada, Mo. with game one starting at 2 pm.
