ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's soccer fell 3-1 on Saturday afternoon to Culver-Stockton College at Cardinal Ritter Prep. With the loss the Lady Hornets go to 1-1 on the season while the Wildcats improve to 3-0 on the season.
The Wildcats would get on the board first in the ninth minute after a corner kick that bounced around before the Wildcats would score. The Lady Hornets would battle back and tie the game in the 27th minute as senior midfielder
Yasmina Dressen (Herzogenrath, Germany/Europaschule Herzogenrath Stadtische Gesamtschule) would take a pass from senior midfielder
Annalisa Castro (Udine, Italy/Reinhardt University) to net the tying goal.
Freshman goalkeeper
Lena-Marie Winkler (Dornbirn, Austria/BORG Schoren) would record two saves while senior goalkeeper
Andrea Mohn (Ballwin, Mo./St. Louis Community College) would record four saves.
The Wildcats would score twice in the second half to record the 3-1 win. The Wildcats would hold a 15-9 advantage in shots with a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Wildcats would also hold a 10-5 advantage in corner kicks.
The Lady Hornets are back in action on Tuesday, September 3rd against William Penn (Iowa) at 2:30 pm at Fenton Soccer Park.
