BELLEVUE, Neb. - Harris-Stowe State University women's soccer fell 8-1 on Saturday night at Bellevue University. With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 3-5-3 on the season while the Bruins improve to 10-1-2 on the season.
Junior defender
Luka Gorogranz (Berlin, Germany/Dodge City CC) would be denied by the Bruins keeper in the seventh minute. Junior goalkeeper
Taylor Kolinski (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Community College) would keep the game scoreless with a save in the 12th minute. The Bruins would strike first with a goal in the 16th minute. The Bruins would extend the lead in the 23rd minute to make it 2-0. The Bruins would make it 3-0 in the 25th minute. Junior defender
Moenesa Mejias (Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago/Lewis and Clark CC) would be denied a goal as her shot would be saved by the Bruins keeper. Kolinski would make a save in the 28th minute to keep the score 3-0.Â
The Bruins would strike for the fourth time in the 29th minute. Kolinski would make two more saves in the 34th and 35th minutes. The Bruins would make it 5-0 with a goal in the 42nd minute. Freshman midfielder
Aniyah Rowe (Kansas City, Mo.) would score her first career goal in the 43rd minute. The Bruins would take a 5-1 lead into halftime.
Junior defender
Katrice Blakely (Mesquite, Texas/North Forney) had a chance to cut into the deficit as the Bruins keeper made the save in the 49th minute. Junior midfielder
Katharina Salomon (Vienna, Austria/HLTW Bergheidengasse) would also be turned away by the Bruins keeper in the 49th minute. The Bruins would push their lead to 6-1 in the 52nd minute. Salomon would be denied again in the 52nd minute. The Bruins would push the lead to 7-1 with a penalty kick goal in the 65th minute. Kolinski would make saves in the 81st and 82nd minutes. The Bruins scored in the 83rd minute to push the lead to 8-1.
Saloman and Gorogranz would each record two shots. Salomon had two shots on goal. Rowe would score on her only shot. Kolinski made eight saves.
The Bruins had a 25-7 advantage in shots, 16-6 in shots on goal and 2-1 in corner kicks.
The Lady Hornets return to action in American Midwest Conference play on Tuesday, October 14th at Williams Baptist in Walnut Ridge, Ark. at 3 pm.
