WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - Harris-Stowe State University women's soccer fell 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon at Williams Baptist. With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall t0 3-6-3 on the season and 1-1 in American Midwest Conference play while the Lady Eagles improve to 11-2 on the season and 3-0 in AMC play.
The Lady Eagles would strike first with a goal in the third minute to take a 1-0 lead. After earning a corner kick, junior midfielder
Ana Bernardo (Florianópolis, SC, Brazil/Talladega/Central Wyoming CC) would tie the game just 46 seconds after the Lady Eagles scored. Bernardo would find the net after the ball bounced in the box before she would find the net. Freshman forward
Sherasade Meghezi (Paris, France) would be denied a goal in the 8th minute. The Lady Eagles would regain the lead with a goal in the 28th minute. Junior forward
Julia Tofane (Montes Claros, MG, Brazil/Central Wyoming CC) would have a chance to tie the game as her header would be turned away by the keeper.Â

Taylor Kolinski (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Community College) would keep the game at 2-1 as she would deny the Lady Eagles a third goal. The Lady Eagles would carry a 2-1 lead into halftime.
Meghezi would have a chance to tie the game in the 52nd minute as her shot would be stopped. Kolinksi made a save in the 58th minute to keep the deficit at 2-1. Kolinski made saves in the 63rd and 65th minutes to keep it 2-1 in favor of the Lady Eagles. Meghezi had another chance in the 84th minute as her shot would be stopped by the keeper.Â
Meghezi led the way with four shot attempts and three on goal. Bernardo scored on her only shot of the game. Kolinski would make five saves.Â
The Lady Eagles held a 12-9 advantage in shots and 7-5 in shots on goal. Both teams finished with six corner kicks.
The Lady Hornets return to AMC action on Saturday, October 18th at 11 am at Columbia College in Columbia, Mo.
