Lady Hornets Volleyball Earns Four All-Conference Selections

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The American Midwest Conference released the All-Conference teams, Champions of Character and Academic All-Conference team for women's volleyball on Thursday night. The Lady Hornets had four selections.

Junior right side Trinity Edison (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Central) was Honorable Mention. Edison recorded 186 kills on the season on a .190 hitting percentage. Edison averaged 1.86 kills per set and recorded 216 points for a 2.16 points per set. Edison also recorded four solo blocks and 52 block assists as well as 73 digs. 

Junior defensive specialist Dejah Foster (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) was Honorable Mention. Foster recorded 427 digs on the season as she averaged 4.03 digs per set which was fourth in the AMC. Foster also recorded a .933 reception percentage. Foster was eighth in the AMC in total digs.

Junior outside hitter Kyla McReynolds (O'Fallon, Ill./Althoff Catholic) was Second Team All-Conference. McReynolds led the team with 270 kills, 2.55 kills per set, 313 points, 2.95 kills per set. McReynolds recorded 31 service aces. McReynolds also added 234 digs for 2.21 digs per set. She recorded 24 block assists and recorded a .924 reception percentage. McReynolds was 14th in the AMC in kills and 10th in kills per set. 

Sophomore middle hitter Jehireh Williams (St. Louis, Mo./Althoff Catholic) was First Team All-Conference. Williams recorded 145 kills on a .227 hitting percentage. Williams was second on the team with 237 points and 2.35 points per set. Williams led the team and the conference in solo blocks with 54, block assists with 76, total blocks 130 and blocks per set with 1.33. Williams currently sits eighth in NAIA with her 1.33 blocks per set.

Freshman right side Codi Thompson was the Lady Hornets selection to the Champions of Character team which includes one player from each school, selected by their coach and teammates as the individual who best exemplifies the Five Core Values of the NAIA Champions of Character® Initiative – Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, Integrity and Servant Leadership. 

The players that were named to the Academic All-Conference team include: Edison, Foster, McReynolds, Williams, sophomore outside hitter Serenity Baker (Desoto, Texas/Desoto), sophomore defensive specialist Alyssa Bass (St. Louis, Mo./Gateway STEM), senior setter Brianah Dawson (Dallas, Texas/South Oak Cliff High School/Wells School), junior middle hitter Saniah Files (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West), senior defensive specialist Makayla Hernandez (San Antonio, Texas/Lawson), junior defensive specialist Alexis Kemp (Kansas City, Mo./University Academy), sophomore setter Jayla Payne (San Antonio, Texas/Wagner), sophomore outside hitter Kaelin Rubin (Kennedale, Texas/Kennedale), junior setter Isa Smith (Little Rock, Ark./Joe T. Robinson) and senior outside hitter A'nyla Watson (Little Rock, Ark./North Little Rock).

The Lady Hornets open the AMC Tournament against #2 seed Stephens in the quarterfinal on Friday, November 14th at 1 pm at the Beal Center in Chesterfield, Mo.
