JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - Harris-Stowe State University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the IC Hilltop Classic hosted by Illinois College on Friday evening.

Senior thrower Damajee Brown recorded a personal best throw of 12.47 meters (40-11) in the weight throw. Freshman thrower Saniya Thomas recorded a throw of 8.41 meters (27-7.25) in the shot put and a personal best throw of 11.29 meters (37-0.5) in the weight throw.

Junior sprinter Alicia Robinson (Grand Rapids, Mich.) placed fourth in the 60-meter dash in 7.93 seconds and second in the 200-meter dash in 26.21 meters. Robinson also finished second in the long jump with a leap of 5.24 meters (17-2.25).

Junior thrower Remaya Atuatasi (San Diego, Calif./Hoover) recorded a throw of 10.09 meters (33-1.25) in the weight throw. Senior sprinter Shamari Long (Chicago, Ill.) finished the 60-meter dash in 8.36 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 28.71 meters.

On the men's side, junior sprinter Xavier Flemister (Minneapolis, Minn.) finished the 60-meter dash in 7.27 seconds. He finished fifth in the 200-meter dash in 22.79 seconds. Junior sprinter Richard McNary (St. Louis, Mo.) finished eighth in the 60-meter dash in 7.16 seconds. McNary ran the 200-meter dash in 23.25 seconds.

The Hornets and Lady Hornets will have to wait and see if any athletes will get an at large bid to the NAIA Indoor Nationals next Thursday, February 27th-Saturday, March 1st. The next time both the Hornets and Lady Hornets return to action is on Saturday, March 15th at the CMU Open hosted by Central Methodist in Fayette, Mo.
