ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's basketball held off the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy Eutectics comeback to win 61-55 on Senior day on Saturday afternoon at Emerson Performance Center. With the win, the Lady Hornets finish their season with a 7-20 record and 6-16 in American Midwest Conference play while the Eutectics finish their season 6-22 and 6-16 in AMC play.
The Lady Hornets swept the regular-season series against the Eutectics during the year.
Senior forward
Toree Jackson (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) tied the game at two with a jumper. Junior guard
Cailynn Dilosa (Gary, Ind./Merriville) gave the Lady Hornets a 4-2 lead with a layup. Jackson gave the Lady Hornets a 5-4 lead with a free throw. A three from senior guard
Lauryn Evans (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) and a three from senior guard
Samara Swire (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) gave the Lady Hornets an 11-6 lead. A jumper from Dilosa made it 13-8 Lady Hornets which was the lead after one quarter of play.
Swire would push the lead to 15-8 with a jumper. A jumper from Swire and a layup from freshman guard
Alivia Montgomery (Little Rock, Ark./Little Rock Central) pushed the lead to 19-10. Two free throws from Dilosa pushed the lead to 21-13. A layup from senior forward
J'Lessa Jordan (St. Louis, Mo./Hazelwood Central) made it 23-15 Lady Hornets. A layup from Jordan extended the lead to 26-17. A layup by Jackson made it 28-18 as the Lady Hornets took that score into the half.Â
A jumper from Jackson extended the lead to 30-18. Another jumper from Jackson gave the Lady Hornets a 12 point lead at 32-20. A layup by Jordan gave the Lady Hornets a 34-22 lead. A layup and free throw from Jackson pushed the lead to 37-22. A Jordan jumper pushed the lead to 43-24. A layup by Evans the lead to 47-28 going into the fourth.

Marchi Hunter (Menifee, Calif./Vista del Lago) made it 49-30 Lady Hornets. Layups from Montgomery and sophomore forward
Isa Smith (Little Rock, Ark./Joe T. Robinson) pushed the lead to 53-34. Two free throws from freshman forward
Tyara Davis (Kansas City, Kan./Blue Valley North) pushed the lead to 55-35. A 9-0 Eutectics run closed the gap to 55-44 in favor of the Lady Hornets. Two free throws from Montgomery pushed the lead to 57-44 with 3:29 left in the game. An 8-0 Eutectics run cut the Lady Hornets lead to 57-52. A jumper from Montgomery pushed the lead to 59-52 with just under a minute to play. Two free throws from Montgomery gave the Lady Hornets a 61-55 win.
Jackson led the way with 14 points while Jordan and Montgomery added 10 points a piece. Jackson went for nine rebounds while Davis added eight. Jordan recorded two assists. Jordan recorded three blocks while Jackson added two. Dilosa went for four steals while Jordan added three.Â
After the game, three seniors were honored. The three seniors were Jackson, Jordan and Swire.
The Lady Hornets went 24-68 (35.3%) from the field, 2-16 (12.5%) from three and 11-17 (64.7%) from the free throw line.
The Lady Hornets will return in the fall for the 2025-26 season.
