Softball Falls in Both Games on Day One of Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Harris-Stowe State University softball fell in both games on day one of the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic on Friday afternoon as the Lady Hornets fell 20-0 in five innings to Oklahoma Wesleyan and 13-0 to Oklahoma City in five innings. With the two losses, the Lady Hornets fall to 0-4 on the season while the Lady Eagles improve to 9-6 and the Stars improve to 9-2.

In game one, the Lady Eagles scored one in the first, six in the second, nine in the third and four in the fourth. Sophomore infielder Gracie Schmitte (San Diego, Calif./Mar Vista) reached on a walk and a hit by pitch. Freshman infielder Jadia Phillips (Maryland Heights, Mo./Pattonville) reached on a hit by pitch.

In game two, the Stars scored seven in the first, two in the second, one in the third and three in the fourth. Freshman catcher Jaden Crenshaw (Killeen, Texas/Robert M. Shemaker) and Phillips reached via hit by pitch.

The Lady Hornets return to action on Saturday, March 1st at 10 am against McPherson and 5:30 pm against Langston for day two of the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic.
