Track Teams Compete at Miner Invite

ROLLA, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Miner Invite hosted by Missouri S&T on Friday and Saturday.

Junior sprinter Alicia Robinson (Grand Rapids, Mich.) ran a personal best in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.42 seconds and in the 200-meter dash in 25.28 seconds. Robinson also recorded a personal best in the triple jump with a leap of 10.11 meters (33-2). Robinson recorded a leap of 4.91 meters (16-1.25) in the long jump.

Senior sprinter and thrower Shamari Long (Chicago, Ill.) finished the 100-meter dash in 13.53 seconds and the 200 in 28.01 seconds. Long also recorded a personal best in the javelin throw with a throw of 32.30 meters (106-0).

Junior thrower Ramaya Atuatasi (San Diego, Calif./Hoover) recorded a throw of 31.52 meters (103-5) in the hammer and a personal best throw in the discus with a throw of 20.94 meters (68-8).

Junior sprinter Xavier Flemister (Minneapolis, Minn.) record a time of 11.00 seconds in the 100-meter to finish fifth and record a new personal best in the 200 with a time of 21.56 to finish sixth.

Junior sprinter Richard McNary (St. Louis, Mo.) finished the 100 in 11.35 seconds and the 200 in 22.88 seconds. Senior sprinter Bennie Amos III (New Orleans, La./Delgado Community College) ran a personal best in the 100 and 200 with a time of 11.61 seconds in the 100 and 23.87 in the 200.

Freshman mid-distance runner David Robinson finished the 800 in a personal best time of 2:19.49. Freshman sprinter Stephan Harris recorded a personal best time of 12.12 seconds in the 100 and a personal best time of 24.36 in the 200.

Freshman sprinter Joshua Kirksey ran a time of 12.40 seconds in the 100. Freshman sprinter Dewuan Minigan ran a personal best 25.13 seconds in the 200. Minigan finished the 100 in 12.41 seconds.

Both teams return to action on Friday, March 28th at the SLU Speed/Power Festival at 3 pm.
