OSKALOOSA, Iowa - Harris-Stowe State University women's soccer played to 0-0 draw on Saturday night at William Penn University. The Lady Hornets move to 0-0-1 on the season.
Junior forward
Julia Tofane (Montes Claros, MG, Brazil/Central Wyoming CC) had to step in and play goal tonight for the Lady Hornets. In the 25th minute, Tofane kept the game 0-0 with her first save of the night. Tofane would make her second save of the night off of a header late in the first half to keep it 0-0 going into halftime.
Junior defender
Katrice Blakely (Mesquite, Texas/North Forney) would be denied by the Statesmen keeper in the 52nd minute. In the 55th minute, junior midfielder
Katharina Salomon (Vienna, Austria/HLTW Bergheidengasse) was denied by the keeper. Freshman forward
Sherasade Meghezi (Paris, France) would be turned away with her header in the 81st minute. Tofane's final save of the night would come with just over 30 seconds left in the game and kept it 0-0.
The Lady Hornets recorded three shots and they would all end up on goal. Tofane would end up making five saves.
The Lady Hornets return to action on Tuesday, August 26th at Freed-Hardeman in Henderson, Tenn. at 5 pm.
