CANTON, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's fell 2-1 on Saturday night at Culver-Stockton. With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 1-1-1 on the season while the Wildcats improve to 3-0.
Freshman forward
Sherasade Meghezi (Paris, France) got the Lady Hornets on the board with her first goal of the season in the 24th minute. The Wildcats would tie the game in the 35th minute. Junior defender
Moenesa Mejias (Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago/Lewis and Clark CC) would step in the role of goalkeeper tonight. Mejias would keep the game tied with a save late in the first half. The Wildcats would take a 2-1 lead with a 43rd minute goal.
Mejias kept the game at 2-1 with a save in the 52nd minute. Mejias would make five saves in the match, including for in the second half.
The Wildcats would hold a 13-1 advantage in shots, 7-1 in shots on goal and 9-0 in corner kicks.
The Lady Hornets return to action on Tuesday, September 2nd at 7:30 pm at Missouri Baptist in Creve Coeur.
