LOUIS, Mo. - Harris-Stowe State University women's basketball picked up a 76-69 win on Thursday night over the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy on senior night at Emerson Performance Center. With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 8-15 on the season and 7-10 in American Midwest Conference play while the Eutectics fall to 13-14 on the season and 10-7 in AMC play.

Senior guard Cailynn Dilosa (Gary, Ind./Merriville) got the scoring started with a layup and free throw to give the Lady Hornets a 3-0 lead. A three and a layup from Dilosa gave the Lady Hornets an 8-3 lead. A jumper from senior forward J'Lessa Jordan (St. Louis, Mo./Hazelwood Central) and a layup from sophomore guard Alivia Montgomery (Little Rock, Ark./Little Rock Central) gave the Lady Hornets a 12-4 lead. A jumper from Montgomery extended the lead to 15-8. A jumper from senior forward Marchi Hunter (Menifee, Calif./Vista del Lago) would beat the first quarter buzzer to make it 17-10 Lady Hornets after one quarter of play.

A jumper from Montgomery, a layup from Jordan and a layup from Montgomery extended the lead to 23-11. A jumper from Dilosa extended the lead to 25-17. An 11-0 Eutectics run gave them a 28-25 lead. A jumper and a free throw from junior forward Janiya Jones (Jackson, Tenn.) tied the game at 28. A three from Montgomery gave the Lady Hornets a 31-28 lead. A layup from senior forward Jayla Dixon (Chicago, Ill.) gave the Lady Hornets a 33-32 lead before the Eutectics held a 34-33 lead at halftime.

A layup from sophomore forward Tyara Davis (Kansas City, Kan./Blue Valley North) gave the Lady Hornets a 35-34 lead early in the third quarter. The Lady Hornets run would continue with a jumper, two free throws and a layup all from Montgomery to extend the lead to 41-34. A layup from Dilosa extended the lead to 43-36. A jumper and four made free throws from Montgomery extended the lead to 50-41. Back-to-back buckets from Davis gave the Lady Hornets their largest lead at 54-41. The Lady Hornets lead 54-45 after three quarters.

An old-fashioned three point play from Montgomery extended the lead to 58-47 early in the fourth quarter. A jumper from Jones extended the lead to 60-51. A layup from Jordan, a layup from Dilosa and a free throw from Davis gave the Lady Hornets a 65-53 lead with 4:35 to play. A jumper from Dilosa gave the Lady Hornets a 71-59 lead. A layup from Davis extended the lead to 73-63. The Lady Hornets would hold on for a 76-69Â win.

Before the game, five seniors were honored. The seniors were Dixon, Dilosa, Jordan, Hunter and senior guard Taeyana Davis (St. Louis, Mo./Soldan/Southeastern CC).

Montgomery led the way with a career-high 33 points while Dilosa added 18. Dilosa recorded a team-high nine rebounds. Montgomery recorded two assists. Jordan recorded four blocks. Dilosa recorded four steals. The Lady Hornets recorded a season-high 21 offensive rebounds.

The Lady Hornets went 30-72 (41.7%) from the field, 2-14 (14.3%) from three and 14-23 (60.9%) from the free throw line.Â
